I went driving with Ben yesterday after he got home from school. I must say he did OK even though I was white knuckled a couple times. I was a bad Dad a time or two and hollered at him when I should have been more calm.
Its just that out of control feeling when you cant get them to do what you know they should be doing and you have visions of car crashes and / or ending up in the ditch. I know it doesnt seem so disastrous to them because they have never done either.
We also spent a little time choosing next school years subjects. Aaron is determined to take two math classes at once so he can get them done. I think it is a bad idea but got voted down by Tracey too.
He will still have time to make up any classes he flunks if he cant handle it so I backed off. Nobody else in the entire family has the same appreciation for math that I do. I think it is the most enjoyable subject there is and cant imagine wanting to rush through it and just scrape by with the lowest passing grade possible.
Math, chemistry and physics are the only subjects in school I enjoyed because they were logical and objective. No teacher could refute the right answer in these subjects like they could stupid English assignments to write gibberish and balderdash about some idiot in tights three or four hundred years ago.
