A storm blew through yesterday afternoon and it was the proverbial breath of fresh air! Really cooled the house down! It also messed up our phone line somehow —— it seems we get our Internet DSL but our phone doesn’t work. So if you want to talk to us —— call us on one of our cell phones. I’m not too excited about it.
If I could find a way to get the Internet without the landline phone we would drop the service anyway. Verizon has got to be about the worst phone company on the planet.

#Applebees Tracey was awake most of last night. She couldn’t get to sleep and she thinks it is because the coffee she got at Crapplebee’s was not decaffeinated as she had asked for.
She didn’t get to sleep until almost midnight and then had to get up at 4:15 this morning. I think she might be a bit grouchy by the time she gets home!

Aaron and Ben told us about the final test for their Biology class and I am still doing a slow burn. This dimwit teacher is going to give them 40 questions to answer for 1/2 the test and the rest of the test is some group project where they are supposed to dummy up some phony-baloney newspaper front page about health.
It’s bad enough this idiot has them doing group projects where a couple kids do all the work for the whole group for homework grades —— now she is foisting this crap on them for a test that is a 1/3 of their semester grade.
Unfortunately if I call the principal and tell him what I think of this manure the boys would only be in more trouble. I don’t think there is any surprise why the children of this country are falling further behind when this is the stupidity currently passing as education.

I’m afraid that I’d only add fuel to the fire...so guess you’ll have to smolder until you burn out!
There are some teachers that you’d just love to back into a corner! I have one here and she’s retiring. I’d love to buy her a Ranger Rick magazine and tell her not to let the door hit her in the rear on the way out!
Well, count down for me...2 regular school days left and then an all school picnic. Today it’s baseball and hotdogs. Tomorrow is kickball and pizza!

It seems to just keep getting worse with Tremont —— I swear they seem to look for these social butterflies when they hire new teachers. All flash and no substance. You’re right, I don’t need any more fuel!
Our guys are done on the 25th —— although I think they have an optional final day when they can go to school and play video games.

How are you guys done on the 25th? You had snow days too. Tremont must not take as many “school improvement/teacher inservice” days or something. Morton isn’t getting out until June 5th! Of course, we had already signed, sealed, and paid for our Florida stuff...the kids miss the last 2 days. The bad thing is Andy will miss the final exams and so he has to take them when we get back. A few of his teachers were a little snotty about that. I guess there’s a French trip that ran into the same problem with having a trip already planned and paid for so Andy isn’t alone!

I’m not too up on all the details but it seems they have final tests on one of those days and if the GPA is high enough the tests are optional —— so those kids can stay home or come to school and play video games on the school computer network. Our guys think their GPA will be high enough to goof off.
This is the 1st year that most of the “teacher’s institute days” were 1/2 days —— so they got to count them as full days? Anyway they had a bunch of those and only a couple of full days off. Everybody thought it sucked until they realized it would get them out of school that much earlier.

It’s a strange picture isn’t it? It appears that somebody took the TV off the wall bracket and put it on the table and put a fan on the wall bracket. I just thought it was a strange picture so I put it on the Blog to see if anybody else could figure it out any better than I did. Weird isn’t it?

Sure wish Morton would do the GPA thing. I know Andy wouldn’t have to worry about the finals then. They do their finals in 2 days here. They should do more 1/2 days and not whole ones so we could get out earlier too.
I’d love more than just July off! (June and Aug. aren’t whole months)
