Good News! Ben & Aaron both passed their driving test with no problems. We had to wait over two hours yesterday but we finally got it done. They have official identification cards now so they officially exist!
Two things I noticed during our time at the DMV one young lady tried to get a license and could not speak a word of English. She had an interpreter that could speak at about a Jr-High level of Spanish. After wasting a lot of everybodys time she failed and will have to try again. How does somebody who cant read English read road signs? Does she have to have an interpreter with her every time she drives? ETC.!
The other thing that really bugged me was the number of nearly blind, almost deaf old people trying to get their license renewed. Really scary! One lady couldnt even find the machine to test her eyes much less read the letters! Another old gentleman couldnt remember the directions long enough to even sign the paperwork and he got his license renewed! And they make it so tough for youngsters to get a license. I know some of the elders shouldnt be driving!

I also managed to get Noahs car to the north end of Peoria in time to get his recall work done on his #Honda. Another hour spent on a hard waiting room chair but it was for young love so I didnt complain too much.

CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!
Shhh....you just discovered the secret as to why everybody goes to Roanoke to get their license or to renew it!
That burns me though....if you want to live here AND have the same privileges as us, learn to read, write and speak our language! We had to!
I think Im going to begin remodeling the kitchen today. I think Ill see what color paints are in the basement...

Oh Dear! Should you be doing that!? Does Dave know you are going to remodel? O-Me-O-Mi! Good Luck and have fun!

Well, Dave knows, but.........if I wait for him to start, Ill need a rocking chair, cane, etc.... He was thrilled when I told him that I was going to paint it barn red! :O We dont have much wall space since we added on the room so its not that drastic! The biggest job is going to be the cabinets. We are going to sand them and then either clear varnish or some kind of stain. Im leaning towards natural and clear varnish, but Ill have to sample on an old drawer front that we kept. He sanded it and I THINK I like it natural.
Its a yucky job, but somebodys got to do it!

I know what you mean! When we remodeled our kitchen I had to build a whole new one. When we got done we had two complete kitchens including stove and refrig. Then I had to turn the old kitchen into a living room. Our old kitchen was below our living room in the split level. Tracey didnt like the idea of people being able to look down into the kitchen and see her dirty dishes in the sink sooooo
