I was finally quick enough to get a picture of Ben behind the wheel of the van yesterday he has been loading up his bicycle to haul into town and then bicycling with his friends. I managed to catch Noah and Aaron on the first day they actually drove but Ben has been more elusive. Thats why he has that wonderful sneaky rogues grin!
We have GOT to start a campaign to get rid of some weeds around here. Thats the trouble with having so much property and so many different places for the pesky weeds to grow. Several years back we had a new septic system put in and it left a very rough hilly area behind the garage that I cant get at with the riding mower. I havent been lugging the push mower back there enough and now the weeds are almost tall as I am!

You are posting Bens picture I hope!
Boy, sounds like youve got some work to do with those weeds!
I went on a field trip yesterday with my dad and Andy. We went to Fair Oaks Farm in Indiana. Its one of the largest dairy farms in the U.S. It really was neat. They milk 30,000 cows a day (most of the cows get milked three times and some four times a day). They also average 90 calves being born a day. We saw a calf about 1 min. after it was born. We tried to get to the birthing barn quicker, but we didnt make it! We also saw a 3D movie there about where milk comes from....what a hoot! When the tractor plowed, our seats vibrated. The best was when the cow sneezed, pooped, they sprayed a strong watery mist of air at your chin/chest! The first one scared everyone, but then it was hilarious!
Ive got a date with some cucumbers, zucchini, and corn this a.m. Time to make pickles, frozen corn, chocolate cake, bread and anything else I can find to do with zucchini!

I had a slow start this morning the picture is above I just hadnt a chance to put it up yet!
We may just wait until next spring on the weeds. By then they will be dead and dry so we can just burn them! Hopefully the garage or house wont burn too!
Sounds like a fun trip!

Oh Darn! I guess this means we wont have to put up with all the traffic, noise and litter caused by this unsightly event! Nothing like a bunch of people getting together to shoot pumpkins at a wrecked car to bring out the worst in people. I realize it was a huge money machine for the folks at that goofy play farm but I, for one, will not miss the noise, fuss and bother!
I never attended the punkin chuckin so I cant really say anything in favor of or against canceling it. Im sure any festival/attraction brings out the best people!

I just think there is a natural tendancy for some folks to be louder and messier when they are out in the country. People throw more trash out their car windows than they ever would in town and have less concern about making a lot of noise. I wont miss it a bit!

ooooo...be careful....you just might show your age....grumpy old man! :0
Im just kiddin you -- I dont/cant/wont tolerate the loud stuff any more. Ashley and I go round and round over the volume of her music...of course, Dave likes the same stuff at the same volume so I loose alot of the time.

I dont mind loud stuff when I WANT to hear it but I dont want to hear the neighbors loud stuff when I DONT WANT to hear it. I am pretty much a grumpy old man as far that goes I guess. I EXPECT courteous consideration and dont often get it.
We just got back from buying luggage all of our stuff was getting old and falling apart. Now Aaron & Ben each have their own suitcase on wheels to pack their stuff in.
