Tracey and I just awakened by that cornstarch alarm clock! She will be driving herself in to work this morning because she has to travel to Canton later in the day for stupid meetings. I don’t envy her that with the nasty cold and crappy roads.


The temperature is -15°F again this morning and falling. I hope this deep freeze breaks soon because I can’t afford the propane to keep us alive at this rate.


The boys have no school for the third day in a row —— add that to the three day weekend and this is turning into quite the mid-winter break. They love it now but won’t like having the extra three days tacked on to the end this Spring. It’s always something.

The frammin-jammin garage door wouldn’t shut after Tracey pulled out so I just got back from messing with it.

There was a film of frost over the infrared reflector thingy and it took me a while to find it. Evidently the exhaust from the car had just enough moisture to cloud it up. Definitely NOT the morning to be out in your pajamas and slippers fooling with a disobedient garage door.

I probably could have let it go until later but didn’t want to end up with snow drifted into the garage to boot.
