Suburbia is where the developer bulldozes out
the trees, then names the streets after them.

Dewey Martin is seen here in this early 1980’s handout photo. Martin, the drummer who helped found the pioneering country rock band Buffalo Springfield with Neil Young and Stephen Stills, died Friday. He was 68.

Obummer on ‘Buy American’ Collision Course?

Ben helped me put the stop leak Ultraseal into the Blazer tires and air them back up. It wasn’t at all difficult to do, just messy and time consuming.

I had to take the valve core out of each tire and pump in a pint of the goo, then put the valve core back in and air up the tire. My poor little compressor seemed to take forever.

I received the results of my blood tests. My hemoglobin A1C is 6.6 which is plenty good. They are squawking because my so-called “good” cholesterol is only 19. Everything else was within so-called “normal” limits except, of course, the ever-blasted “ratio” which is too high because the “good” cholesterol is too low.

I’m supposed to “come visit” so we can “discuss” my cholesterol “problem”. I am going to visit about my diabetes and my weight —— we aren’t going to discuss their theories about microscopic blood particles and unproven drugs which have the side effect of killing people.

I’ll risk the disease to avoid the certain damage of the cure. I do need to coerce her into a prescription for some short acting insulin so I can lower the dosage of the long acting.

I tried to get them to do that two months ago and they wouldn’t do it over the phone —— had to come in and pay for another “visit” you know. Now that I have pretty well figured out how to administer it (no thanks to the lovely doctor or nurses) I know what to expect.

DD didn’t make it out to eat with Mom and I at the Cracked Barrel —— she was closing the deal on her new car —— new to her anyway. She got a 2007 Chevy Aveo with 5 speed manual transmission and no A/C. I don’t think I could own a car without A/C but she is more frugal than I.

It’s a nice looking little white car and seems in good condition from what I saw just briefly looking at it. I took her to the dealership at about 8 p.m. (the dealership was closed) where they were supposed to have the car ready for her to pickup.

The license plates weren’t on it so I took her home and she will have to get the dufus salesman to find a way to deliver it to her when they’re done fooling with the plates.

WOW! I’m impressed! 6.6 is great! Way to go!

Yea, the cholesterol thing is a pain. I’ve had high cholesterol for about 2 years now. I do take a pill for it -- when I remember anyway. I do blood work to check my liver 2 times a year. No fun getting older....NOT OLD!

Sure wish today was like yesterday, but I’m not complaining!
