Stupid School Tricks

You many recall my rant about the school deciding cash wasn’t good enough for them and they set up this goofy credit lunch card system. Well Ben lost his lunch card and had to fork over $5 to get a new one.

I called the school to see how they handled this because I had a hunch they wouldn’t do it right. They didn’t. Instead of cancelling the old lunch card account and giving him a new number —— they simply issued another card with the same account number.

I was assured that there had NEVER been a problem with someone using a lost or stolen card so I shouldn’t worry. Right. I asked if she had lost her credit card would she be concerned somebody else might find it and use it and was assured that was “completely different”.

She told me we should check Ben’s account on the Internets every day for a while and let them know if there was any problem. Just another glaring example of how these people make policies that make no sense. It would take no effort whatever to simply open a new account in the computer but they are too lazy to insure we don’t lose money and treat us like idiots for worrying about their incompetence. Not to mention not eveybody has access to the Internets to check these bogus accounts.
