04/27/2009 InfluenzaI guess I may as well join the public outcry about this epidemic, pandemic or whatever it is. I can’t decide if this is something I should be worried about or if it is simply the usual media generated hype about an average everyday occurrence.So far the numbers seem ridiculously low for any designation as a world threat. I suspect more people were killed by AIDS, Malaria, etc. I can remember getting some very nasty flu bugs as a kid and I don’t remember it being treated as anything out of the ordinary and it was certainly nothing to alert the military about. Then again, this might be much worse than they are telling us because the authorities tend not to be trusted about anything. |
