06/03/2009 Flashing Red ConfusionWe went to the Bob Evan’s in Pekin before doing some grocery shopping yesterday. It is not wise to shop for groceries on an empty stomach.The traffic lights at the intersection of Court St. and the old mall mess were being worked on so the lights were all flashing red. Evidently there are many very slow minded people living in the city because as we came up to the intersection there was a woman to our left just sitting there staring at the light as if she thought it was going to start flashing green or something. The rest of them were all jerking, lurching and racing through the intersection like they had never figured out how to take turns properly at a four way stop. We finally made it to Bob’s and saw much the same behavior on our way out. This time it was a guy in an old pickup truck just sitting there looking up at the lights with a perplexed expression. He may still be sitting there for all I know. We came home a different way. |
