Animal Tracks

A black swan feeds with its cygnets during some fine spring weather at Basel Zoo, Switzerland.

I spent the day visiting with Noah yesterday. Noah and I went to Chili’s for lunch and then a place called 5 and Diner for supper. The rest of the day we spent mostly sitting on the couch talking. I know there were times when I did most of the talking and that probably wasn’t so too good, but I guess that is the opinionated Dad in me. I did let Noah talk sometimes though and I learned a bit about his life here and his job. Noah showed me his new hiking pack that he got a deal on. He has modified it quite a lot and it looks pretty cool for keeping a good quantity of necessary and emergency supplies in one ready to go sturdy pack.

My key card didn’t work on my motel room when I got back here last night and there was a crowd of drunks in the parking lot. This one drunken girl told me she had come here with “some cute guy” and he ditched her. She wanted me to give her a ride home. I told her no. I was really glad to get to the office, get the key card fixed and get into my room. I don’t need a bunch of drunks talking at me.

Tammy sent me a text message a moment ago that said the #Blog wouldn’t let her make a comment but it seems to be working OK for me. I suspect the spam filter keyed on a particular word and might work if rephrased but I don’t know. If anyone has a similar problem please send me an email and I will try to fix the problem if I can.

Tammy, please try a one word comment like “test” just to see if it will work?

I agree with your cartoon! Where did summer go? Hurry, today is the last day of freedom.... run, enjoy, run!

I still think Labor Day to Memorial Day for school is plenty of time for them to teach the kids LOTS of stuff that they will never need and/or use! (shame on me...such a comment coming from a teacher!)

Now, Ashley’s computer isn’t working at the moment so we are sharing computers. Sometimes she “fixes” things to suit her on my computer. I’m not computer smart enough to figure out if she set something different, etc. So, it could be my computer and not your blog at all!
Have fun visiting!
Tammy

#Blog
I figured it out thanks to Tammy sending me her comment via email which I got to load as you can see above. Her original sentence had no space between the row of periods and the word run in the first paragraph, third sentence. My filter won’t allow anything with <dot>ru because there are a ton of viruses and spam from Russia. Problem solved. Just always put a space after a period or dot so the filter doesn’t confuse it with an illegal Internet address. Aren’t computer programs fun!

And I agree totalheartedly (just to mess with my spellchecker!) that kids should have more summer vacation time and not less. The idea of year-round school is terrible to my way looking at it.

Wow! Computers are so much fun! Enjoy your vacation and visit. I love the pictures that you’ve sent too!

Just ordered books for Aaron and Ben for ICC. Ben has a whole backpack full and Aaron needs 1 $12 book and a couple of flash drives. I took Tammy’s advice and ordered online. The prices seem much better there than getting them from ICC
Tracey 16 Aug 2010, 7:19 p.m.
Good idea! I hope they get the books in time, but there probably isn’t a huge rush anyway.

I just got back to the motel room. I’m having a hard time with the thought that I won’t be seeing Noah again for at least a few months. It was good to “hang” with him for a while though. Now begins the long trip home and believe me, I am ready for my own bed!

Love you tons Tracey and see you Friday.
