It has been very taxing around here lately. I have done Ben’s taxes, Aaron’s taxes, and my Mom’s taxes. Still have our taxes and DD’s to do yet. We can’t do ours for another couple weeks because we itemize our deductions and the Repuglicans stalled the tax laws until after Christmas last year so they aren’t finished figuring out how badly to screw us yet. The good news is that Aaron & Ben get almost all of their money back and my Mom only has to pay $1. Yes, One Dollar. That’s because CAT claims her legal benefit as a wage and she has to pay SS taxes, etc. on that. One Dollar. What a screwed up country.

Hey... “tax man”...I, too, am waiting to do taxes. How will we know when to file? I read that the on line programs have to be updated, changed or whatever before we can file. I don’t itemize, but I do want some credit for college tuition and fees! I just want to be done with those taxes!

Hi Tammy, We have until April 18th to postmark our filing. My software, H&R Block, says they will have an update on Feb. 15th. So I have to wait until then. We too are waiting on the college deductions. We should be getting some cash back unless they changed that too. We shall have to wait and see. I just hope we don’t have to wait until the middle of next month for the bean counters to get this stuff figured out.

I know...I just want my money! I want to know how much we’ll get back so I can plan a vacation or something!
I’ve used TaxAct on line the last couple of years so hopefully they will be up to snuff on the 15th too!

We want our money too! We have plenty of places to spend it, in fact I’ll bet somebody I know has it spent already!
