Yesterday Tracey worked on repainting her ALdirondack chair while I trimmed trees and mowed some grass. We also made a run to Pekin to buy some parts to fix a garden hose. We went to the new Big R store in Pekin which reminds me of Fart & Fleem. I was surprised to see as many cars in the lot as there were. I imagine Menard’s must be taking a hit in sales —— at least until the new wears off.
Tom came by with his new motorcycle to show it off. It sure seems awful big to me. I guess I won’t ever get into riding a big cruiser like that. It was nice looking though and well kept.

That’s what Dave said too.... “It’s alot bigger than I thought he’d get.” I don’t care what size it is....I wish he didn’t have one! I really hate the idea of him riding that back and forth between ISU and the turkey farm! I guess I could hope for rain every Tues., Thurs., and Sat. until the snow flies!

Hi Tammy, I don’t have anything against big motorcycles —— I just thought it would have been too big for me for a first motorcycle. I am glad I started smaller. I just don’t see myself riding out on the highway that much where I would need that much engine or comfort. But —— I’m an old fart and don’t take the risks I did at his age

I have to say I agree with you both! My big sister feelings got the best of me and I freaked out a bit. Although I cant say too much because I also rode for awhile. I told him if I caught him without his helmet, I’d take his keys...I wasn’t joking! Lets just say I pray for his safety everyday because even if he’s smart about it, there’s still plenty of idiots out there, and that’s what scares me.

Hi Liz, I agree with the “plenty of idiots out there”! It gets real scary sometimes! Let us hope Tom uses good judgment always! (If you read this Tom —— I hope you take it to heart!)

That’s the part I hate about motorcycles the most...the OTHER idiots! Drivers are just too impatient, they don’t look out for others, and most are too busy talking on their phones to drive. Drive VERY defensively Tom! I know ICC taught you well.

A motorcyclist was just killed in a head-on collision with a car in Peoria recently while that car was making an illegal pass. Be sure to be watching for idiots even when you shouldn’t have to be watching for them.
