1878 • The first telephone directories were distributed to residents in New Haven, CT. It was a single page of only fifty names.
1885 • The newly completed Washington Monument is dedicated.
1947 • Edwin Land demonstrated the Polaroid Land Camera to the Optical Society of America in New York City. It was the first camera to take, develop and print a picture on photo paper all in about sixty seconds. The photos were black and white. The camera went on sale the following year.
1958 • The Peace symbol is designed and completed by Gerald Holtom, commissioned by Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, in protest against the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment.
2007 • Tracey Legel hits deer, much damage to car, deer limps away.

Mom and I were supposed to go to her trailer with her therapist yesterday but Mom wasn’t feeling well so we rescheduled for tomorrow.
I hope Mom feels better soon and the weather cooperates because I know she would love to go home for a little while.
A&B are saying they are coming home this weekend so we are looking forward to that! And once again, I hope the weather will cooperate because I don’t want them traveling if the roads are terrible. But I bet they would anyway.

Busy morning but I have done all I can to insure we will have nice weather. I took Tracey to work in the Blazer, stopping along the way to put air in the tires for maximum traction.
After I dropped her off at work I stopped to get groceries so we would have enough supplies to feed hordes of teenagers expected this weekend and / or survive a blizzard. Also filled the gas tank all up.
So having taken all these precautions I don’t expect much snow at all
