Mom and I went to the #Dentist yesterday —— we arrived in the late morning and got done in the early afternoon. Mom had a crown replaced on a back molar. No pain killer. Not me, I want things real numb when they drill on my teeth! We stopped by the Main St. Deli for a bowl of chili for a late lunch.

I picked Tracey up from work around 3:30 and we went to the E. Peoria unit so she could pick up some supplies to take to Morris, IL, later this afternoon. We will be spending the night there and returning home tomorrow afternoon. Tracey has to fill in as a nurse for a day.

Dentist is one word that I have never liked! I’m with you...NUMB ME!

Not really a vacation, but a night in a different city - different scenery and maybe a nice drive to get there.

Guess I missed a long, heated, money spending school board meeting last night. I had to work so I couldn’t go.

What ticks me off is that the board asks us to give them 12 million dollars. We say no. They go ahead and build 9 classrooms anyway from their bank account.

Now they are spending a huge amount on a brand new (fancy I’m sure) bus lot and “headquarters”. So....why did they need our extra 12 million dollars? They do need to move the buses, but not the way that they are doing it.

The #EducationMafia is in an upward spiral of wasteful spending across the country. It has become such a big business and the administrators believe they can spend like big CEOs and just pass the wasteful costs on to the taxpayers. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a way to put a stop to this crap. Our taxes have more than doubled since we moved here and the vast majority of our tax dollars, more that 2/3 of it, goes to the local school district to waste on new buildings, football stadium, new track —— and of course ever increasing pay for the administrators.

I would very much like to see this sign in every retail establishment in America. I get really tired of self absorbed people who can’t even put their phone down long enough to order a cup of coffee or a sandwich.

I added a little calendar link in the “Today in History” pages for this month —— but they only work for this month so far.

We have arrived at sunny downtown Morris, IL, and have checked into our room. We had supper at the local truck stop (not too bad) and made a trip to the clinic just so we could find it tomorrow at 5 a.m. Now for some TV and then to sleep on a lumpy motel bed. Tracey is in the shower right now —— she always tries to run the hotels out of hot water wherever we go!
