We met Noah at the Peoria airport around 7:45 p.m. yesterday and went to Monicals in Morton to get some supper. We had a nice conversation and stayed until almost 10:00. It has been about three years since I had last seen him.

Every then and now I see something that jogs a thought that wont go away. Yesterday morning at breakfast the waitress put the bill down on our table and then made sure it was upside down. One of those things I have always noticed but this time I decided it should be investigated.
So I did a Google search this morning and came up with some popular answers. A quick cut and paste puts these answers to that nagging question! (I should also research why a dropped piece of toast ALWAYS lands jelly-side down.)
So you dont gasp when you see the high bill.
To be polite. A nice way of saying, you owe me.
Its done as a courtesy. When you take someone out to dinner, you dont want them to worry about seeing how high the bill was. Since they dont know whos taking out who, they leave the bill face-down.
Because money is one of those culturally sensitive things. They put it face down so only the person picking up the bill knows how much the meal costs. They walk away so you can discuss or decide who is going to pay for it.

Louie was supposed to go to the vet today to get some shots but Tracey says her alarm clock didnt go off. Silly dog is sitting here grinning at me and doesnt know how close he came to getting shot today. Now it is supposed to be Monday morning. Unless he turns off the alarm again?
