I didn’t think it would take too long before the preferential treatment to Hillarity would cascade to others wanting their cases treated by the same standard. I doubt #JulianAssange will get his case dismissed but he is certainly showing the world the depth of America’s judicial double standard.

Tracey and I sat in front of the TV and watched four different (so-called) news programs. Out of two hours of television we saw perhaps fifteen minutes of actual news. And that news was centered on the police riots in Wisconsin, the floods in Louisiana, and the fires out west. The rest was a rehash of the professional sports entertainment in Rio and various bobble-heads discussing politics.

The CNN flood coverage was a buxom gal standing knee deep in the flood in a pouring rain (wearing a t-shirt, of course) and explaining that it was raining. Same fire coverage —— only standing ankle deep in ashes in front of a burned out building. No news. Just theatrics.

The police riot coverage was especially ridiculous with a black sheriff explaining it was all the fault of lazy thugs who don’t respect the police for shooting them on sight.

Plague, famine, pestilence and death was sweeping the northern Pacific Ocean between 2014 and 2015.

This chaos was caused by a single massive heatwave, unlike anything ever seen before. But it was not the sort of heatwave we are used to thinking about, where the air gets thick with warmth. This occurred in the ocean, where the effects are normally hidden from view.

I gave #Louie a Milkbone a while ago. He started flinging it around the room in his excitement and eventually it sailed out into the hallway. He couldn’t find it. Now he is sulking on his blanket. He will find it later, after he has forgotten all about it, and it will seem like brand new all over again. A dog’s life.
