And now for a full review of my sore tooth saga. I am presuming one day I will look back upon this painful incident and will have forgotten the pain and aggravation.

It all started a few weeks ago when I discovered a small sore spot on the gum line just below the last molar on the lower left side of my jaw. I decided to go see the #Dentist and he declared he could find nothing wrong after X-rays, examination, etc. So I went home wondering if it would heal up.

A few days later I noticed the molar just above the sore spot began to bother me and after a few days I was back at the dentist on a Tuesday. This was a week ago today. The dentist still couldn’t find anything wrong by looking at everything and suggested I have either a root canal and crown or have the tooth pulled. He believes a part of the tooth has broken off below the gum line near a large filling and this has caused the sore spot on the gum and is causing the nerve pain in the tooth. I decided I didn’t want to spend the likely $1000 for restoration so I agreed we should have it pulled. He gave me a prescription for antibiotics and an appointment for the tooth to be pulled last Thursday.

After taking a few of the antibiotic pills the tooth began to feel much better so I canceled the tooth pulling appointment with the hope it would get even better. No such luck. Although it doesn’t hurt most of the time, it almost always hurts when I’m eating. Deciding a tooth I can’t use isn’t much use —— I have an appointment today (again) to have it pulled. Stay tuned.

Home from the #Dentist. If I were speaking now you wouldn’t understand me. The entire left side of my face is numb. Including most of my tongue. It will still be numb late into the evening. I don’t know if I am just more susceptible to the painkiller or if it’s because I’m a big person and he ups the dosage like he was darting an elephant.

I REALLY hate the noise of a tooth being pulled out of my jawbone. All that grinding and popping is very disturbing. If I no longer have pain when this all heals up I will be grateful.

There are times when I have been in a bad situation I have said, “I would rather have a tooth pulled than ——” Not today. Not for another little while either.
