We watched the 1st episode of a made-for-TV series the other evening. The Mist is supposed to be based upon the short story by #StephenKing.

I am an avid fan of Stephen King’s writing and almost always disappointed by the TV versions of his work. I understand he is well paid for his original work and again for the rights, but I think most of his real fans find these adaptations to be lacking.

The last time I was this disappointed was the TV series Under the Dome which at least had a passing resemblance to King’s story.

In my opinion The Mist just plain sucks. Completely. If you have read the original I think you find this series puzzling to say the least.

Spoiler Alert!
This link will take you to my explanation of only some of the reasons why the 1st episode (I may not watch another) was so utterly disappointing to me.

I had mentioned the other day that #DiscoverCard was finally working with Samsung Pay. I spoke too soon. Tracey just tried to add it to her phone and not only did it refuse her, I got an email that our account was locked because she used the wrong name. WTF?

I called and the nice young man couldn’t understand why it happened but did note that there was a difference in their record of her name compared to the record provided by #SamsungPay. He supposedly unlocked our account but couldn’t register Tracey’s phone to work.

Whatever. It makes no sense why three other cards were accepted but not Discover.

He said he would make out a “memo” on the event and I asked him to include the fact we ditched Discover after 30 years because of glitches like this and they may have just screwed up their last chance. We shouldn’t have to figure out why their system is broke.
