I messed around with that stupid garage door opener for a couple hours yesterday before I finally got it working again. I’m still not completely satisfied I have it right but it seems to be working for now. One problem I had was the motor would overheat and throw out the circuit breaker after a few times of running the door up and down.

The limit switch to stop the door closing is the problem and seems to be awful fussy about working if you don’t get it just right. Too many trips up and down the step ladder for me and now I have new muscles aching this morning that I didn’t know I had.


Poor Ben. He moves to Washington because it is supposed to have pleasant weather and ends up in the middle of the worst heat wave in the history of the state. And he has no air conditioning. It is forecast to top 100°F for the rest of this week. That sucks.

I sent him an email and told him to find a library or movie theater or some place with A/C and camp out there. Not many places out there have A/C because the weather used to be mild all the time.

I received an email from my friend Jeff explaining his plans to ride his bicycle to Nebraska and get there in time to watch the total solar eclipse. He will be sending trip reports to the Crazy Guy on a Bike website ——
