Disclaimer11/17/2017 Air Hosed!Pressurized air was available throughout the factories of Catepillar and provided another readily available source for the practical joker. There were air hoses at almost every work station and were used to operate air tools, air clamps, air hoists and, most of all, to spray air to clean parts, tools, work tables, etc. These hoses were usually attached to a shutoff valve. The prankster waits for the victim to leave. Shuts off the air supply to the hose, disconnects the air nozzle and attaches an open fitting to the hose. He then pours a quantity of water down the hose, disconnects the open fitting and reconnects the nozzle. And leaves the air hose turned off. When the victim returns and tries to use the hose nothing will happen. He will eventually realize the air supply has been turned off and will go turn it on. Returning to his task he will then proceed to spray water everywhere. Other ingredients may be used such as baby powder or light cutting oil to break up the monotony. By leaving the air supply shut off the prankster is setting up the victim for the next time. Upon finding the air hose shut off the victim will likely be suspicious from the last time and may even disassemble the hose and fittings searching to make sure he isnt going to get fooled again. Only to discover the air was just turned off. Of course, after just turning the air supply off a few times the victim will eventually just turn the air back on again and is ready to start over again with something new added. Perhaps with a different ingredient from the previous time. |
