Finished reading The Smiling Country by #ElmerKelton. It has been a while since I last read it so I had forgotten some of the lesser plot lines. Hewey survives an attempt to break a particularly bad horse but his recovery is long and painful. Good context about the changing life style of the free spirited cowboy as the world changed in the early 20th century. Good read.

I have a few books to choose from on the reading list but haven’t decided as yet what is next. I’ll let you know.
