Tomorrow is Memorial Day, the day Americans have honored since 1868, when we mourn those military personnel who have died in the service of the countrythat is, for the rest of us.
The plumbing outfit who removed the old water heater took all week to send an estimate to replace it. I had asked for specifics like make, model, dimensions, warranty, etc. All we got was a quote for $1,500. A water heater only costs about $500, so they were asking $1,000 to install it.
Tracey worked throughout the week to carefully remove the water damaged flooring in the water heater closet. She finished cribbing up the floor joists and then put down the plywood to patch it up.
Yesterday she went to Lowes and bought a new water heater, brought it home, hauled into the house and installed it. We had hot water by supper time.
