In 2015, Kimberly Jean (Bailey) Kim Davis, the Rowan County, KY, clerk jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, was released after five days behind bars, emerging to a heros welcome from thousands of supporters. She was jailed for contempt of court. Had she gone to trial for her crimes she could have languished in jail longer. Instead she was a heroine to the homophobic crowd. #Homophobe #KimDavis |
