In 2020, two people were murdered shot to death and a third was wounded as a gunman fired on innocent bystanders protesters with an AR-15 rifle during a third night of police riots protests in Kenosha, WI, over the police maiming shooting of a black man, Jacob Blake. (17-year-old Kyle Howard Rittenhouse, who was taken into custody in Illinois the next day; he said he was defending himself after the three men attacked him as he tried to protect businesses from protesters.)
