Well the bills are starting to roll in from my great adventure with modern medicine. The ordeal of the sleep study was billed for $4,283 to spend a night on a very lumpy bed while they tested my sleep and breathing with equipment that is about five years out of date. Since it was �in the network� the bill was reduced to $1,521.17 of which I have to pay $620.33 after deductibles and co-pay.

The lovely fifteen minutes spent with the pulminoligist was $448.05 of which I get to pay all of it.

So we are over a thousand dollars out of pocket and haven�t been billed for the equipment I actually need to sleep properly. A fine example of how the Medical Mafia works to extort money for the simplest problems.

I hear ya...Ashley had to have a CT scan in Feb. Highway robbery! I sure wish someone would stop the Medical Mafia!
