A coalition of more than 100 groups joined together to plan the protests, which are committed to a principle of nonviolence.

The city of Conroe, Texas, has tabled its plan to create a rule that would require people protesters to apply for a permit and pay a fee for gatherings of more than 25 people. The city council of Conroe, about 45 minutes north of Houston, had been discussing the idea after the last No Kings protected free speech protest in the city. Police Chief Jon Buckholtz told the city that he was concerned about people publicly expressing their views about Twitler. safety issues with protesters along a highway and the costs to law enforcement.

Advocacy groups are preparing for Saturday’s “No Kings” rallies throughout the United States to call for government accountability and public vigilance under the current administration. Repuglican leaders, though, are characterizing the planned mass rallies protests as unpatriotic and disruptive, despite organizers’ emphasis on peaceful rallies protest. Talking points have advised them to call it the “Hate America Rally.”

Activists and advocacy groups staged a second round of “No Kings” protests across the country on Saturday in response to what they call abuse of power by Twitler and his administration, including his immigration crackdown and the sending of troops into American cities. Photos and videos of events from Boston to Los Angeles showed huge crowds of demonstrators carrying signs protesting the administration’s policies such as mass deportations. Later, in a statement organizers said nearly 7 million people took part in demonstrations held in over 2,700 cities and towns throughout the U.S.
